Be Humble. Pray. Seek. Turn. Be Forgiven. Be Restored.
If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land. -2 Chronicles 7:14
Sacramento, CA—California is a broken state full of broken people. We are lost, we are desperate, and we need God to intervene! It’s not just our political system and our divided public square, but also many churches and people who claim the name of Jesus but have become confused and have tragically wandered from the truth. Some call evil “good” and good “evil.”
All extraordinary movements of God in history have been preceded by extraordinary prayer. We desperately need God to move. We need humility. We repentance. We need mercy. We need grace. We need transformation. We need restoration. We need unity. We need God’s love to fill our hearts. These are things we cannot manufacture ourselves. Prayer is a powerful spiritual weapon. When we pray, we unleash the power of the Kingdom of heaven here on earth. This is why we need to humbly and cooperatively work together to call all believers to set aside a day of repentance, prayer and fasting for a broken and divided California and nation.
“This day is not about us and what we can do; it’s all about God and what He will do”, said Dean Broyles, President and Chief Counsel of the National Center for Law & Policy. “We need to humbly repent and realign ourselves with God and His purposes. Nearly every Christian that I speak with senses two things right now. First, we are broken, divided, and desperate for God to move among us. Second, a generational spiritual shift has occurred in recent days, infusing God’s people with a renewed sense of courage, boldness, and purpose. In the middle of this spiritual battle, now is the time to appeal to Heaven; to repent and cry out to God for His intervention and help, as Daniel did for his broken nation in exile.”
“By humbly repenting of our sins and seeking God, He changes our hearts and enables us to live out the lordship of Jesus in every sphere of life”, said Jonathan Keller, President & CEO, California Family Council. If we truly long for His Kingdom to come and His will to be done, then we must pray, fast, and act with hearts set on His glory. That’s how families, cultures, and nations are transformed.”
We are just getting started as a grassroots prayer movement, but we already have a growing number of ministries and churches on board. These include California Family Council, Concerned Women for America, Advocates for Faith and Freedom, Urban Youth Collaborative, the CHANGED Movement, and the National Center for Law & Policy. The prayer coalition has launched a helpful website (www.caprayer.com) with powerful biblically-based prayer points.
What will this day look like? The primary call is not to a single big event, but for Christ followers to stop and pray wherever they are on Saturday, November 22, 2025. We envision millions of Californians humbly repenting, fasting, and praying for our state and nation on the same day. Churches and other organizations may certainly host events consistent with this call. We invite all Christian churches, ministries, social media influencers, and others to join us in promoting the Day of Repentance, Prayer, and Fasting on November 22, 2025. Together, let’s find out what God is doing and join Him.
Soli Deo Gloria!
